Sorry I took so long to reply on this, I have been out of email for a few days.

I am eligible and willing to work on SOC this year.

I have a number of ideas, entending libtracker-gtk (search widget),
continuing the nautilus integration, epiphany backend, rythmbox
backend, even a libgnomedb [1] backend.

Regarding the networked searches, I like the look of Gabriel [2], and
there has been talk on ddl and the dbus list of DBus over ssh. I think
the combination of avahi discovery and DBus over ssh will be a good
approach for tracker networked searches.
