Here is what might be relevant. When the problem happened, I started tracker just before I left my office (the PC is in my office). At the night, I logged into the PC from my home through ssh to see the status of indexing. Since I didn't know the DBUS address which the trackerd is using, I killed the trackerd and started new DBUS and new trackerd. Then I tried some searches and left it as is until the next morning. The next morning, the cache size had been swelled huge. Unfortunately, I don't have the log file for that faulty indexing.
