I have Tracker running since my upgrade to Ubuntu Gutsy for several weeks now. It is configured to index my home directory and another directory.
However, none of my queries ever returned even a single hit. I ignored this since I am using Beagle, which works well. Today I wanted to test Tracker again and after some experimenting I killed trackerd and invoked it from the console using: trackerd -v 2 This shows, among other messages: ... Setting inotify watch limit to 8191. Watching directory .... (total watches = NNN) ... ERROR: Inotify watch on <dirname> has failed ERROR: Inotify watch on <dirname> has failed (many more) Then, nothing seems to happen anymore. I did not find a way to change that limit 8191, and I definitely have several tens of thousands of directories in my home directory. Even if I exclude some that are not that necessary to have included, I will remain with mar more than 8191. So my questions: is my assumption correct that this problems prevents Tracker to index/find anything interesting? And how can I correct the problem? _______________________________________________ tracker-list mailing list [email protected] http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/tracker-list
