I'm not sure if it makes sense to comment any more about the problems I'm running into, but I have another one off the top of my head... #7 I am able to pause indexing to dedicate my CPU cycles to something else...however, after some time passes, it happens that trackerd uses 99% of the CPU. I then wanted to see what would happen if I let it continue to index and to my surprise, after a couple of seconds, the CPU usage dropped to near 0%. I did this twice and saw the same behaviour.
