The FreeBSD GNOME team was looking into updating our tracker port to
0.7.14 (.15 now). However, the 0.7 versions rely solely on inotify to
provide file and directory monitoring. Why was this change made? It
seems that tracker is now 100% Linux-specific now. Being a new external
GNOME dependency, I would like to see a bit more portability.

Is there any chance to restore the different file monitoring providers?
In particular, seeing FAM support re-added would make tracker a lot more
portable. Thanks.

Joe
