I tend to agree with Ivan, if there is no real use case for it then it
just feels like db bloat.
Another example, think about OSX Spotlight, it shows installed apps
too... if tracker knows about them, we have the same effect under
GNOME, allowing users to quick search/update/remove applications on
the system.
Moreover, we could use fster to build up a quick App Store fully
integrated into<your-favourite-file-browser>.
I think this is enough for having some fun.
Actually the tracker-search-bar applet does this already, just not as
elegantly :)
What else would this work add which we don't already get from .desktop
files?
Would this replace the desktop file implementation or complement it?
