I personally use:
sudo rm /usr/lib/*.la
If you prefer you can move them to a la/ directory. They can catch you
out sometimes and I prefer not to use them myself.
After that:
git clean -dfx
./autogen.sh ..
...
It should work. If it doesn't, there may be older files in $prefix
contaminating the operation of Tracker.
