Aren't switchers wonderful? You don't have to go the expensive route 
though... Most switchers will quite happily put out enough power to run 
the nuvi and tracker...  The nuvi after all being a usb device will 
happily live on 0.5 A (and way less then that when not charging the 
battery), and the tracker will run on fumes compared to that..  So the 
circuit out of these will work just as well:*

happened to be the first one that came up with the search..)
