Robert,

When making customer's cables for a minidin port, we use an FT-817 for all
testing. The radio is convienent and works well. We always use the 1200 baud
pin and never have problems with it. The 9600 baud pin is basically raw
discriminator audio before any filtering or processing to the audio amp. The
1200 side is a bit more filtered and cleaner (in my honest opinion).

                  Whoohoo...

Got my OT2m in the mail today. Hacked together a cable for my FT-817 and all is
well. aprs.fi shows my packets hitting the aprs network.

At the moment I am using the 1200 baud pin in the radio. Is there any reason
not to? I think I have read some arguments for using the 9600 baud connection
on some yaesu radios.

Also, I do not have the squelch line connected to the OT2m. Do I want to do
this?
