I'm attacking this problem from a completely different angle than you requested, but if you turn COMPRESS on your position/course/speed will be shorter and you can put that savings towards a longer comment. As for a solution to your actual question, I'm not sure. It's an easy enough feature to design, but it hasn't been designed quite as you would like it. 73 Tom KD7LXL
