Well here goes.. I just joined this group as I was looking to get some contact with those looking after the firmware for the OT2.
I have not had my OT2M long but have had some prior experience with others. I like what I see so far. 1: In Australia we have predominantly got UiDigis running in TNC2 Clones which are managed using connected frames. The Uidigis themselves can aven be used as L2 digipeaters with connected frames . This allows one to remote manage digis over several hops although its not really recomended. I have played a bit with the OT2 in Kiss mode. At first it does not appear to support outgoing connected frames but I have found that it does seem to work of a fashion via a L2 Digi . So If I try a connect to ABC direct it wont work (no response) even though it normally does and its in range. If I try a connect to ABC Via DEF L2 digipeat then it works but it wont handle large frames (over 100 Bytes at a guess). It will handle smaller frames ok though. So it looks like its almost there and working. The reason I bring this up is that I love the OT2M but I have to change TNCs each time I want to manage a Digi. I manage about 8 Uidigis from here you see. It would be great if it could be fixed. 2: I have some 1820 1Wire devices here. Is there any way I can connect these up to the front panel and just use them to report the outside temperature here without going with a full blown WX station? I have had 1 connected and the OT2 can see it ok but I dont think it really wants to play ball with just the Temp sense only. Its a pity the internal temp sensor is a LM335 and not a 1wire device it would seem to make it a bit more expandable that way but the price difference from the LM335 and the DS1820 may be the issue.
