I've got someone deploying a T2-301 as a solar powered digi and we're working on the power budget. My biggest concern right now is the TX duty cycle - the site is 1,000' above the surrounding terrain. It's pretty remote, but it could still see some significant traffic.
At 10% duty cycle I calculate that the system will need 12 watts of power over 5 hours of sunlight, so at 25 watt panel seems to me like a starting point. Does anyone have real-world experience with this setup that they'd like to share? When I've deployed solar-powered systems myself they've been transmit-only weather and telemetry stations. Scott
