I suspect that it is in there but several scans thru, I didn't see it.

The only time I see it go red is when the unit transmits.  Is this normal or 
could I be getting RF into the unit?

I was using a mag mount antenna and the only real vehicle ground is via the 
power input.  I might try a choke on the two serial ports and during the 
summer, will attach a body ground at the antenna mount.
