Nigel,

I found my Nuvi 350 on craiglist.org in California for a very reasonable price
(I think I paid $85 US) I didn't look up your callsign to see what Country or
US State where you're home is at, but if you're not in a place where
craigslist.org is active, you can usually find them on eBay. Several repeatable
online stores sale refurbished Nuvi 350's but the price is more then many newer
series. I've seen the refurbs for over a $200. Maybe the companies know that us
hams like the 350 so they make us pay a premium for a refurbished units. I've
even seen the refurbished units on Garmin's own site, It's ironic that they
charge a lot for a refurbished, discountinued product which has a supposed
glitch.

All Nuvi's except the 350 not only leave a breadcrumb trail as stations
move, but that trail is actually a bunch of waypoints which quickly
fills up the Nuvi memory at which point you need to clear them all.
Garmin has expressed a distinct lack of interest in "fixing" anything as
sometimes it appears that they believe the 350 is the one that is broken.

If you're going with an OT2m or T2-135, I wouldn't go with anything but
a Nuvi. Keep looking, you'll find one.
