That's a great list. Maybe we should have a high level list of goals for each release. The tickets on assembla make it hard for me to find out, what are the planned new features and where tracks is aming...?
Furthermore, I would like to add better "cloud" compatibility and an updated user/auth system to the list. -stefan From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Matt Rogers Sent: Monday, October 10, 2011 11:26 PM To: Stefan Richter Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Tracks-discuss] Re: The future of the Tracks project Here's what I have in mind. This is parly based on Rainier's current plans for 2.1 and 2.2. - Get 2.1 out the door, hopefully before the December milestone date currently in Assembla. - Have Tracks 2.2 migrate to Rails 3 and spend some time cleaning up the code base a bit. - Implement a dashboard view - possibly for 2.2, definately for 2.3 - that will help users conduct weekly reviews and get things out of their heads plus other things. - Create a separate inbox, in order to better support the collection piece of GTD. - Sequential and parallel projects. - A next action view of some sort, without having to have dependencies between actions set up. - Enhanced performance testing, with tests that will fail if something takes too long. Someday/Maybe: - Start on a desktop app (using RubyQt) and Android apps (both phone and tablet) that will interface with a hosted Tracks instance. That's just the stuff I have written done for the moment. I'm sure others will have other things to add. I'll also be happy to merge any contributions, of course. :-) Thanks, Matt On Oct 10, 2011 3:40 PM, "Stefan Richter" <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: > > Hi Matt, > > that sounds awesome.
