If you keep an eye on activity in the TracksApp project, you may notice a lot
of recent commits to the tracksapp.github.com repo. I've been spending a bit of
time while I'm on annual leave moving all the content from getontracks.org over
to a GitHub pages site at http://tracksapp.github.com/. I used Octopress, since
I'm familiar with it, and it makes getting a nice looking Jekyll site up and
running much easier.

I'm now pretty much finished, so please take a look and see what you think -
send me any comments.

What I haven't yet done:

* I wanted to export the comments to Disqus. Comments can be enabled or
disabled on a post-by-post basis easily, but I thought it would be a good way
to preserve old comments and allow new ones in the future. In my experience,
Disqus is very good at spam catching, and moderating via the dashboard is very
easy. However, I'm having a terrible time trying to get the ExpressionEngine
comments into WXR (Wordpress export) format for import to Disqus. If anyone
knows how to do it, please let me know!
* I've still got to spider the forum pages to download them as static HTML.
I'll then include them in the site (read only) for archival purposes.

If I don't get any comments in the next few days, I'll finish the site and
transfer the domain to GitHub to switch the sites over properly, as I don't
really want to spend my whole holiday on this! When I've handed it over, it
probably needs a bit of content updating. I've done a bit as I've gone along
where I noticed links to the old repo etc., but I don't have time to go over it
thoroughly.

cheers,
bsag
