Hi All,

One of the setups I use is Emacs 23.1.1 on Windows connecting via ssh (putty) and then sudo'ing on a remote host.

On some hosts I get the following behaviour when trying to save a file, from my tramp debug log:

///17c88da8acfa0fc938eaa413c7f447ef
16:10:47 tramp-get-connection-property (7) # process-buffer nil
16:10:47 tramp-barf-unless-okay (1) # File error: Couldn't write region to `/sudo:r...@somehost:/some/path', decode using `base64 -d' failed
16:10:47 tramp-flush-file-property (8) # /some/path

...but editing the file locally as root works just fine.

Any ideas what's going on here?

Chris
