This needs debug information. Please perform

(require 'tramp)
(setq debug-on-quit t
      tramp-verbose 6)

and rerun your tests. Next time you interrupt Tramp, there will be a
backtrace. Please show us this backtrace, and the contents of the buffer
*debug tramp/sshx g*.
