After say an hour, if an ssh connection get stale, if in a *shell*, we would just do ~. $ ssh same.place.again
But apparently doing $ emacsclient -n /ssh:same.place.again will not unfreeze anything. So perhaps the manual should document the only solution is to restart the entire emacs, as tramp's firmly holds on to the now dead connection.
