Oh yes sorry yeah. That's why I've added this > method to Tramp. I was talking about calling a program on the remote not about accessing files. I'm aware that for accessing files SSHFS is faster. My point was that the SSHFS isn't used when calling processes for a user of tramp this makes sense of course but if one used sshfs before and then expects it to behave like it usually does outside of tramp then that's initially confusing.
