Could you send a complete *debug tramp/foo* buffer for a case where it fails, and one for a case where it succeeds? Start with a fresh Emacs, then type C-x C-f with the right filename. For the failure case, the *tramp/foo* buffer would also be useful.
While it is important to have a complete debug buffer, it should be as short as possible. So it would be nice if you could type in the complete filename without using filename completion. Oh, wait. Of course the problem happens when you write, so after (successfully, I suppose) finding the file change it and then save. I can't look at it in more detail right now, I'm too hungry :-) I'll try to meditate over your backtrace after lunch. kai -- ~/.signature is: umop ap!sdn (Frank Nobis) _______________________________________________ Tramp-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/tramp-devel
