A new Special Interest group under Business Issues has been formed to address Identification and Routing. Ultimately, we'll be writing a paper on Identification and Routing issues in the context of delivering HIPAA standard transactions via VANs, Clearinghouses or point to point. Ultimately, we'll establish some guidelines and recommendations for getting transactions (interchanges) from here to there, keyed only on the information in the Interchange and Functional Group Headers (ISA and GS segments, respectively). In addition, some Directory and Security requirements will be addressed where they concern transport, packaging and routing of HIPAA standard transactions.
Representatives of VANs, Clearing Houses and software vendors of EDIINT-like software are especially urged to participate.
