I have been involved in a number of "conversions" of proprietary formatted data into 835 format. I firmly believe that payers who attempt this will quickly see the difficulty of fitting the round pegs of their prop. data into the square holes of the 835 format. This challenge will lead many, I believe, to consider changing their prop. claim adjudication system to one which accepts 837's and creates 835's directly, once they are available on the market.
