The
997 reports only reports on whether the document (837) was received and the
condition it was received. If there is a syntactical error, it will return
that the document was received with an error. It will not give any details
or how many errors there were.
As to
whether that PER02 will return an error depends on the way the application
mapping was set up. I work on one of the more well-known mapping packages,
and noticed that it would not return an error. With some packages, this
may be able to be modified.
It is
my opinion that the 997 SHOULD return the error. Charlotte Wojnowski
