Does
the 834 support the transmission of a
member pre-existing condition?
The only
thing close that I see is either the Disability Information segment, but
according to the implementation guide, "should only be sent when enrolling a
disabled member or when disabiilty information about an existing member is added
or changed."
or
Member Health Information, but which only supports the health-related code which includes: none,
substance abuse, tobacco use or unknown and member height and
weight.
