I have a question on the 837 Institutional Attending Physician Primary Identifier in loop 2310A segment NM1 fields NM108 and NM109. The EMC v.6.0 reference and UB-92 reverence are where the UPIN is currently being sent but none of the identification code qualifiers are for UPIN. The code qualifiers listed are
24 - Employer's Id number 24 - SSN XX - Health Care Financing Administration National Provider Id None of these seem to go with UPIN. There is a code for UPIN on the REF segment for secondary ID's but not here. Can/is UPIN supposed to be sent here and if so what qualifier is supposed to be used with it? What are others doing here?
