In the 2300 loop - claims information (page 240 of the 837 facility guide) there is a situational element for Ambulatory Patient Group (APG). Some years ago these were replaced (for the payers we deal with) by the ASC (Ambulatory Surgical Group) and then subsequently for CMS the ASC has been replaced by APCs. We still submit ASCs to our Blue Cross Blue Shield payer.
Our question: would this be the appropriate field to use for submission of the ASC or APC when we need to?
