Hello-
Some employers may assign a specific ID number matching their internal
personnel systems rather than using SSN or a Payor assigned Member ID number
which is also used as the member identifier for the health plan.
I can think of one particular company that employed many non-US citizens,
who used this method.

On page 75 of the 276/277 IG, the NM108 Data Element "Identification Code
Qualifier" allows values of "24", "MI", & "ZZ".
What does the "24" ("Employer's Identification Number") represent (an
Employer ID - maybe used with NM102="2"? an Employer-assigned Employee ID?)
to y'all, and when might it be used/encountered?
