Since coverage under COBRA would be further specified in Loop 2300 (Health Coverage) 
just like any other benefit, perhaps you could use the DTP segment in position 270 of 
the transaction. DTP01 has a qualifier code available in the implementation guide of 
"543" - Last Premium Paid Date. Please refer to pages 132-133 of guide 
X12N-834-004010X095 (May 2000).

In the 4050 version release of the implementation guide we have added code "343" (Paid 
Thru Date) to this occurence of this segment. Non-covered entities under HIPAA may, of 
course, begin using this code if so desired.
