Anyone want to help get more user group meetings on the web? here is what I have done personally: http://CarlFK.blip.tv - I want others to do that too. As part of that effort, I want to create assembly instruction videos, like "how to setup the recording equipment at a user group meeting." So I put start my dv cam recording, then start unpacking and setting up. There are some parts where 'nothing happens' like when I am pondering where to put something. I could use an editor to remove that, but I am hoping to do most of it with software. I have done 2 or 3 "setup vids" and I have a long way to go (the educational value is so low they aren't worth watching.) So I have a feeling I will be doing abut 20 more before I get a good one. thus the desire to automate the "remove low delta parts of an existing file."
This kinda does it: http://www.lavrsen.dk/twiki/bin/view/Motion/ "software motion detector" problem is that only that talks to hardware via /dev/video, and web cams not dv camcorder. I am sure I could figure out some way to pipe the dv into /dev/video, but I think it might be better if it was a TC filter. otoh, the Motion algorithm was meant for what I want, and it does have a bunch of features, so it probably makes more sense to some sort of file input to Motion than add Motion features to TC. but maybe it will be easy to use the "find deltas" algorithm from an encoder, and tap into that. So, anyone interested in hacking that together for me? Or have some ideas... etc. -- Carl K
