Hi Francesco,

>>I'm interested, in what transcode in better for you (you = openshot?)

I probably misspoke. Transcode and FFmpeg are some great and awesome
software.

I am fan of Transcode (i am speaking about me not the Team) that I am
finding that Transcode provides some files of better quality. (for sample
MPEG2 files) Regardless, FFmpeg has an continuous evolution in contrast of
Transcode (e.g, DnxHD format, WebM, X264, ...). And he becomes a powerful
and modern application easy to use.

However, he lacks of filters unlike Transcode (60 filters) which this
awesome filter (i.e. stabilize/transform). Proof. This filters have been yet
improved by Alexey
while he is not in evolution.
Transcode have some advantages which miss at FFmpeg:
- a lot of filters (60)
- a good quality on some formats
- a total management of the key-frames (B, I, P)
- an good utilisation/integration of the others existing tools (e.g.
mjpegtools, ffmpeg, ...) and provides not only one but several way to
realize an operation.
- some greats filters (i.e Stabilize/transform) it seems insignifiant but
this kind of tools put onward can do the deal and then to project in the
front of the spotlight a project (and create a community, bla bla......).

He is missing of communications (who know Transcode today, who know his
power, his syntax, who know that he takes a part in some great and popular
projects like Avidemux, ...), a lot of applications to show his power (e.g
GTranscode, GV4L, TTcut, ....), a modern website, a modern manual, a
muti-core support, a suit of modern format (H264=>AVCHD, DNxHD, WebM and
others), one or several applications which are on the spotlights,....

For the project Openshot the points 1, 3, 4 are interesting (according to
me) even thought it is too late compared at we are trying to set up for the
future of our application. They can give a plus to the project. However, The
integration of this filter can be done and benefits for the both projects.
And if it is not integrated at FFmpeg it is not captital but if yes, we are
very interested because FFmpeg will take a big place in our futures plans.
Anyway, we are interested by this one and he will be integrated (when it is
a good question) in Openshot either by Transcode either by FFmpeg. It will
depend of George :=)

Like we are speaking of Transcode i can renew my previous advices (i.e
OgmUbuntu, WebUp8). If you realize the 1.16, inform first this websites and
after a short while inform them that you find a successor but explain your
plans for the futur of Transcode.....
Francesco, ready to take the field, to search and to stop until that you
have find a (or several) person(s) motivated ?
I have already done a call for Transcode (after yours) so I can do another.
My blog is yours for this time, same if he is limited at the French
community.

Best regards.
