Yes, we need some more informations. A full-featured stack trace will be a
very nice start. I hope that gentoo's emerge will not strip debug symbols
from binaries that it produces. :)

Without those informations it's pretty hard to identify the problem.

Divx5 under linux is known to be buggy. But on this issue such codec isn't 
involved at all, yet :)
