What then happens if you run a command line transcode on a ripped file
with
fairly simple parameters, then maybe with the parameters generated by
dvd::rip?
If the first output is good but not the second, then you could accuse
dvd::rip of botching things up somehow. If not, then you have a
standalone
transcode command and params to throw back to the mailing list...
On the other hand, if you're not getting the video quality you want,
we ought to try and figure out why. Can you post the exact transcode
command line (and configuration files, as appropriate--it looks like
you're
using xvid4, so that would mean a copy of your xvid4.cfg file)?
I appreciate the friendly advice, guys. I did actually post all the rip
files /.cfg files a few days ago as an attatchment: I'll actually copy them
into my email in another post. Will try the suggestions, on a dvd I've
already ripped, over the weekend. Back on monday.
As to you, Phil:
You are an irremediable idiot. If what I was writing was
way off base, as you seem to have decided, don't you think
somebody else on this list would step in and say "Pay no
attention to Phil, he is delusional"? Use that pea-brain
of yours for once in your life.
Now I find this highly offensive. I have worked extensively with mentally
challenged people in the past (handicapped children and the senile elderly,
in fact) and can tell you that an "idiot" in the true (though now outdated)
medical sense of the term, is someone with an IQ level of 25 or below.
This is an disgusting and derogatory misuse of the term as both an insult to
me, the children I have worked with, the less fortunate everywhere and also
a terrible example to all new subscribers on this list. You have done
nothing to respond to the actual question I have raised, but only to the
question you *think* I asked. As I've already pointed out, action / the
lack of has had nothing to do with the problems I've had. Seeing as I have
never met you in my life, I think it is a little early to being wheeling out
statements about our relative intelligences, pea brained or not.
I don't think your "delusional", but please be aware that I have not found
the answers you have so far given to be constructive towards the resolution
of the issues I am experiencing.
Apparently his mother was slow to wean him, and he never forgave
her for it when she finally did.
Now that we're on to "mother" insults, I'd only like to wonder whether your
mothers ever taught you both that good manners never cost anybody anything,
and that if you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say it.
Even if she never did, I hope you both can be the better person and take
back what you've written, because you should. If not, then please follow
what your mother should have said, and just don't say anything and don't
reply to the harmless requests of those less experienced than you, unless
you, like the writer above from Liverpool, have something constructive to
say.
