After a lot more research I am 100% confident that OpenDML support in
transcode is broken and OpenDML (large .avi) files produced by transcode
will not play in Windows Media Player and any other directshow
application.

Thanks for your patience and effort, especially for detailed reports.
I'm increasingly confident in the same conclusion, so looks like we have
another task for 1.2.0 :D

First obvious problem is with dwDuration's for both video and audio in
superindexes. For video and non raw PCM audio it should be "nEntriesInUse"
and not "nEntriesInUse-1". For PCM audio the only way to know dwDuration is
to calculate number of indexed samples as they being indexed, so fixing it
requires a bit of code mod. [...]

If you want to send some patches, they are more than welcome. ;)
Feel free to join transcode-devel anytime you want, if you want.

There are some specs/drafts avalaible on internet, but due to logistical
problems, such fix must wait. Neverthless, a deep avilib review is
planned for (far) future.

Best regards,

I'll try again. I have an Mp4 that I'd like to transcode to dvd. I have been transcoding avi's to dvd from the wiki's tutorial but I don't know what to do for an mp4. Do I need to convert it to mpeg? I know that it is an mpeg but the extension is .mp4.
Thanks
