A combined feature would be very usefull indeed. Something like the
win-prog "Subrip", which gives you 3 sec for a character it doesn't
know to manually enter it and then goes for its best guess.
In the end you can easilly review every char it used in combination
with its picture. You can then fix if necessary & relaunch process..
manual intervention is reduced to ehm ... say about 1-2 minutes.

As for an intial program, it's nice but at the moment I still prefer
subrip's way of working.
