Yes, I have sen this too in the past.
I think it has to do with a mismatch between the version of the faac
library that is installed and the version that transcode (or rather,
libavcodec) was compiled against.
I got this at a certain point on a system where I installed and
upgraded the libraries and applications myself from source - how you
resolve it depends on what operating system distribution you are using
and how you have installed the various libraries. If it's one of the
packaged distributions, line Debian, Ubuntu, Gentoo, RedHat and so on,
you should first try upgrading everything to the lastest versions and
if you still have problems report a bug to the OS distributor.
If you've installed it all from source, or half from a distro and half
from source, then you need to get to the point where you have a
coherent set of libraries installed.
