I have beena transcode user for quite a while now - I tend to use an editing
oftware followed by transcode to convert into mp4 or more specifically xvid.

I buitl a new system, and am using the onboard audio, and since I did this I am
finding videos which are recorded from software such as Keffeine or mythtv are
playing back fione in the application they were recorded in, but when I try
using avidemux or other editing software in ubuntu, or even boot into windows
and try editing there, I am straightaway seeing a sync issue in audio and video.

I am jnot sure how to get round this, and obviously transcoding is not even an
option - I know I can delay or advance audio, but I would like to correct
whatever is happening, and anyway even if I simply tried to adapt everything to
resync, I am not convinced I will get a good result.

The system I have is an AMD Dual core running ubuntu 7.1 with gnome 2.2.

It has 2gb rom, NVidia GE force 7 graphics Gammagraphx GeForce 7600 GT, audio is
Giga-byte MCP55 High Definition Audio
