Hi,

I'm pleased to announce the avalaibility of

transcode 1.1.0 beta 0

for download at

http://fromani.exit1.org/transcode-1.1.0beta0.tar.bz2

checksum files are avalaible at

http://fromani.exit1.org/transcode-1.1.0beta0.tar.bz2.md5
http://fromani.exit1.org/transcode-1.1.0beta0.tar.bz2.sha1

This is the fifth public release of new transcode branch
aimed to be released as stable (hopefully) before the summer (yes, this
is a more realistic schedule ;) ).
This is the first beta release. Development is more and more focusing
on polishing, stabilizing and tuning both the code and the documentation.

We're following the plan, and no functional changes, just fixes, are being
merged since last alpha. This release is recomendded for every experienced
user out there. Please help us in improving transcode and in making this
release the better transcode release ever!

If you was already using a CVS HEAD snapshot, or any former alpha release,
you are *encouraged* to upgrade to this release.
Otherwise, I'll suggest to start tracking transcode_1_1 branch :)

Full Terse ChangeLog (since 1.0.0) is on writing phase since it is
pretty damn long. Only Inter-Changelog is avalaible yet:

Terse ChangeLog follows (since alpha 7):

transcode 1.1.0-beta0 (20080415):
----------------------------------
- split transcode manpage by separating manpages for transcode
  core and for loadable modules.
- add scripts and stubs for autogenerate manpages from docbook
XML sources, and scripts to autogenerate such sources as well!
(only for import modules right now).
- add RELEASE NOTES document stub.
- build filter_pv if and only if we HAVE_LIBXV.
- resync with last changes in ImageMagick.
- support the new header layout of recent ffmpeg libraries.
- fix aclib image format conversion on x86-64.
- do not ship profiles if they aren't requested.
- use pkg-config more extensively in configure.
- scale verbosity level in tcmodinfo to reduce output noise.
- add docbook source for transcode manpage.
- remove hardcoded PAL settings in v4l probing code.
- more NUV backport fixes from HEAD.

this release is expected to build cleanly on i386 and amd64.

Best regards,
