Hi, Example 5 of thw wiki http://www.transcoding.org/cgi-bin/transcode? Calculating_Frame_Size_And_Aspect_Ratio gives an example of converting a 672x272 AVI file (with PAR of 1:1 and DAR of 42:17).
The steps given are first zoom then pad (add borders). Since 672 is about 96% of 702, and zooming+padding takes more time than merely padding, I'm wondering if it is possible to convert the avi to 702x480 DVD video by simply padding, without zooming?
