Hej Carl, first thank you for your reply! I got a hint to www.openmovieeditor.org from a different list (debian-multimedia) that might be interesting too, so I will try different authoring software for this step. But again, I'm going to convert the source files first and this works bad with both kino and openmovieeditor: It's not in good flow! Concerning the transcode version I switched to debian-multimedia.org/testing and got version 1.07. With that I'm going to try more but still have difficulties with the parameters.... Boris
