I'd like to offer a pulseaudio import module, because PA will only become more and more popular (and it is already is) and it is just not convenient to ignore it or to have to avoid it in order to import audio. I'm asking because you said sometimes it works and sometims it is not (maybe another application is playing with the volumes in background).
