I never had a Hotmail account, but maybe you won't receive even in a "spam" folder. You should realy explore the anti-spam options before concluding they are not block the e-mail.
That said, I'd like to share a story. I have a MSN account to use with the messenger; I provided an e-mail (not hotmail) which never received the confirmation message, even if the anti-spam features were all turn off. Someday a friend of mine joined the MSN with an e-mail from the same domain, and had the same problem! I provided a differente e-mail address and finally received the confirmation e-mail. What I'm saying is: if you are *sure* it's not a configuration issue, *maybe* it's Hotmail's fault...
