This sounds like a more reliable approach.  Once that is there then we
can slowly eliminate this layer.

Thanks.  I just wondered how much though had gone into considering other
frameworks.  Since we are starting from a clean slate it makes little
difference but knowing it is well documented, adopted and maintained is
important.  I think Guido van Rossum gave it the thumbs up recently.  So
sounds good.
