Hi Aiet, I cannot answer the technical questions... but I have one for you.
I am surprised by the mention of an OpenOffice.org pootle server? We have been running OpenOffice.org experimentally on our server, and we are planning to dedicate pootle.wordforge.org mostly to OOo. Our idea is to connect the server to a build system that builds stable localised versions of OpenOffice based on the content of the server, so translators can see their translations quite quickly.
