We also have a need for this feature because translators might need to
coordinate and find out who did a given translation (because it was
wrong or needs an update).
We even need more than that:
Currently we don't have a clew of who translated what in the last 24
hours, what language translations have been completed, etc... It's
important to have such informations because it could imply to we
contact a new active translator to organize the translators
community or we might consider updating the CVS tree or release a
new version of the software when a major translation effort has been
done. Currently we need to write our own tools to track this.
We'd suggest that Pootle provide the ability to notify the
administrators when a user has performed a significant work. The
admins should not be disturbed by eah translated string but when a
translation session is finished. This notion of "translation
session" might need to be added to Pootle, either internally (based
on user activity) or on the client side.
I might add this feature request to Pootle tracking system...
