Hi there,

This is Antonio from PerĂº. A few of us at #olpc-es on freenode are
trying to use Pootle as the translation server for the OLPC project.

Our goal is to fully integrate our Pootle installation to the OLPC git
repositories.

We've been checking the docs, the wiki, etc. We decided to install
Pootle 1.0 but I guess we can move to 1.0.2.

I've backported the code supporting GIT from Trunk to 1.0 as you can
see here hightlighted in yellow:

http://pastebin.com/f3e4e29c8

Then by reading the code and following the hints in the wiki i've
symlinked some .po files inside the po dir of Pootle to the files that
have been checked out from GIT and was hoping to do the trick that way
but it's not working, I mean, the linked .po files doesn't get listed
in the web UI.

Some questions:

Is the route we're going the correct one?

What steps are we missing?

What is needed for a account to have Commit privileges?

Does the backported code seem ok?

We'll highly appreciate the help.

We know we have to configure GIT to let us commit without interactive
authentication and also have some script periodically check the
projects sources out and create the symlinks if needed. We're not
quite there yet but we're working on it.

Regards,

Antonio
