Virtaal - desktop localisation tool
Pootle - web-based localisation tool and localisation management tool

What they have in common is where the power lies. They both use the
Translate Toolkit.  So since Pootle does committing to version control
it should be easy to port to Virtaal.  The Tookit does QA checks which
you can see in Pootle.  So it is possible to expose these in Virtaal
also.
