Hallo everybody Since everybody on this list has some interest in Pootle, I guess it would be interesting to mention a few recent deployments of Pootle that has been seen.
http://pootle.clever.cz/ - PCLinuxOS localization project. http://translate.treenet.co.nz/ - Squid Translation Project http://translate.koha.org/ - Library software http://pootle.untangle.com/ http://pootle.lxde.bsnet.se/ - LXDE lightweight desktop environment This might be an interesting project for many Pootle users, since it is a small translation project that can be attempted by a single person to get the basic desktop translated. It is much smaller than something like GNOME, but doesn't provide many utilities. But getting the basic menus, configuration, file manager, applets, etc. translated, seems like a reasonably small task. The fact that LXDE should work very well on slower computers, is a bonus for the communities of many under resourced languages. I started to translate there recently, and the server administrators were very helpful. http://pootle.emedia.jp/ - For translating the Django components in the Pinax project. This is quite interesting, since the upcoming version of Pootle uses Django, and might in future use some of the components of the Pinax project. We try to maintain a list of deployments here: http://translate.sourceforge.net/wiki/pootle/live_servers Feel free to add other Pootle servers that you might know of. Keep well Friedel -- Recently on my blog: http://translate.org.za/blogs/friedel/en/content/minority-languages-cut-short-sms ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Crystal Reports - New Free Runtime and 30 Day Trial Check out the new simplified licensing option that enables unlimited royalty-free distribution of the report engine for externally facing server and web deployment. http://p.sf.net/sfu/businessobjects _______________________________________________ Translate-pootle mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/translate-pootle
