Hey Pootlers,

I'm noticing that using word count to measure progress of translation from
Japanese to English doesn't really give a true sense of progress, since
Japanese does not use spaces.

Is there a way to tell Pootle to display progress by counting the number of
characters and strings calculated? If not, this would probably be a good
feature for Pootle, and should be turned on by default for projects which
have Japanese (and other non-space languages) as a source language.
