Hello, We are new to the translation/localization process.
Pootle 2.1.6 is running on our FreeBSD server, so that is good. Since that was accomplished, I have REALLY struggled. Some sort of newbie starter kit would be great. It would be helpful to cover: The online Pootle doc says 2.5, but I can't find 2.5 anywhere, and my port was 2.1.6 where is that doc? The Pootle documentation does not show how to setup a new project. How to take a text file of messages (not pot format) and get them into Pootle as the starting point. What is the best practice for taking a en_US file and implementing a en_GB translation? (similar translations that just need tuning) How does plural setup work in the user screen? I use the Google button and get an error message, is there a known issues list somewhere? (I have an API key for Google Translate) How do you connect the translation files and templates to git? or if all that exists somewhere, some help on where to find it would be appreciated. A lot of this may be obvious to many of you, but it is not to me. If I have missed a newbie page, I do apologize, if you could point me at it I would appreciate it.
